this man literally is Flynn Rider

For those not in the know, I AM currently in Australia visiting my hawt accented hubby. So pretty much while I adore you guys, the times I trounce him and call him ridiculously stupid pet names to see if I get an eye roll pretty much trumps Tumblr. So my hiatus is still in effect.

Also, he’s getting Internet switched over and it can take a minimum of FIVE DAYS OMG to get it set up.

She made a squeak of surprise when she realized where he was, then burst into a delighted laugh. “How did you get up there?” she grinned. “Why did you get up there? I wanna be up there!”

She moved the pan aside so the bacon wouldn’t scorch and held her arms up to him, as though asking him to pick her up.

He shifted his weight and grinned before reaching down to grab her hand. “I climbed. And I was committing shenanigans because I could get away with it. And it’s easier than normal because I can grip with my toes.” He hummed in thought. “I should probably start stretching more. This isn’t as comfortable as it used to be.”

Her expression turned coy as she began to test her weight, determining whether or not she should make him support her. “Flynnanigans,” she said absentmindedly. “What’s the matter, don’t I stretch you out enough in our room? I’ll have to start doing that more.”

The idea of watching him stretch was a titillating one. Seeing him be sneakity and strong and agile was also titillating.. She found herself just looking at him, holding his hand and marveling at his agility and overall leg strength. “You’re amazing,” she breathed. “And so sexy.”

He grinned and leaned down enough to kiss her hand. “These very much are Flynnanigans, yes. And I think it’s our…exercises that lets me still go ths far. Used to be able to go farther, though.”

His grin turned coy. “So I should start doing these sorts of Flynnanigans more often, eh?”

Rapunzel could easily remember a time when Eugene — no, not Eugene. Flynn — when Flynn wouldn’t be caught dead speaking mushy words of love. Romance? Sure. She knew he’d romanced more than his fair share of women — and possibly some men, if a heist called for it. She wasn’t sure and had never asked — but love? No. His love was hers and hers alone. She got to see and be a part of his first experience in his adult life where he cared about someone else more than he cared about himself.

"I’m the luckiest girl in the world," she said softly, eyes brimming with the adoration she felt. "And I’d stay here like this all day, except I need to flip the bacon."

With that, she moved away from him, walking backwards to keep him in her sight until it was absolutely necessary for her to turn around.

His response was a long sigh. “Well, for the sake of bacon I suppose I could see that.”

Then, of course, he was bored. And she wasn’t paying attention. Well, she was, but not in the way that negated shenanigans.

So while her attention was elsewhere, he climbed. He climbed and finagled footholds until he was pretty much right on top of her.

"Whatchya doin?"

He was surprised his legs could still spread this far.

She grinned broadly, glad he agreed. That meant he wouldn’t eat yucky piefee just because she made it.

"Hey," she said, sliding her hands up his thighs and beaming up at him. "I love you. You know that?"

He leaned forward and gave her a brief but sweet kiss. “Makes this the best kind of pie, then. Love all around makes things even tastier.”

Yep. Right there. That was the face. Excitement with a little sleepiness still on the edge of it. She could fill him with bacon and coffee and send him back to bed and he’d be happy like that.

"Of course there’s bacon," she grinned. "And pretty soon, there will be your bacon.”

She went to the larder and got enough for both of them, then set the bacon frying and started a second pot of coffee. While this started to get hot and sizzly, she fetched one of the pre-made pie crusts and popped it in the oven to finish browning. And when that was done, she wiped a dollop of mocha cream stuff off the whisk she’d been using and dabbed it on the end of his nose, licking the rest slowly off her finger.

"Oh, hey! This is pretty good!" she declared.

His eyes crossed, trying to spot the cream. He just missed it with his tongue so he had to wipe it off with his finger. “Hey, it is good.” That in combination with the smell of bacon had his stomach grumbling.

"I just hope it turns out as yummy as we’re both imagining." She poured the ground beans into the cream and continued to beat it. Slowly, it began to form peaks that curved ever so gently at the tips. When it was stiff enough, she set it aside in the cold box to chill as much as it could. "Want something else for your tummy while that chills? Bacon, maybe?" She knew she was speaking magic words to him, and she liked his face when she spoke magic.

His head tilted to the side as he watched the filling turn from weird goop to what would be yummy pie goop. “I have no doubt it will be.”

His eyebrows rose as he perked up a bit. “Bacon? There’s bacon?” Did she know she was going to end up spoiling him rotten?

I’m not sure if the title is in reference to him, or what he’s thinking about Rapunzel as he looks at her.

"Pffff, Rapunzel, of course."

Her smiled grew into a broad grin. “That’s exactly how I feel! Anything you ever made for me ever would be the most precious thing! Anything you gave me. Gwen’s handkerchief and ring? I love them so much, because they come from you and means something to you.”

The tips of his ears warmed as he rubbed a spot on the counter. “Good. Good, good.” After all, they had been the only things worth anything aside from monetary value. How could he not give them to her? “Good.”

He was saying good a lot. Subject redirect! He grinned at her. “So see? Mmm, Piefee.”

Her smile became more genuine and relaxed. “Okay. What if it came out terrible, though? Would you be disappointed and stop talking to me?” She poured the mocha mixture into the cream and started wipping it as rapidly as she could, which was actually pretty rapidly. It began to mix and stiffen as she worked.

This time he snorted. “On something you thought up for me? And decided to make, again for me? Hell no. Even if it was something you made every day.” Another sip of coffee. Mmmm. “Even if it’s gross and tastes like dirt, which I doubt, I’ll still love it because you made it for me.”

"Well, yes… You’re watching me make it, right?" She offered him an unsure smile. Every time she found herself in the kitchen for him, she also found herself petrified that she’s screw it up somehow and he wouldn’t like what she made.

He grinned. “Why yes, yes I am.” He took another sip of his coffee. Glorious coffee.

"Anyway. Even if you hadn’t made any of it from scratch, I wouldn’t hate you for it. Because pie. Mmm, Rapunzel pie.”

She beamed at him, then poured the remaining coffee in with the heating chocolate, mixing it all thoroughly. “Would you hate me if I used one of the pre-made pie crusts and didn’t make it fresh right now?” she wondered. Making it fresh would take that much longer, and the smell of chocolate and coffee was making her hungry.

He was taking a sip of his coffee when she asked that and managed not to choke. He arched an eyebrow at her.

"Doubt I’d even come close. Besides, the filling’s all fresh and stuff, right?"

"How espresso beany do you want your piefee?" she wondered. "Cause that would be enough for me, but you might like more." She swirled the chocolate around the heating pot so it would melt faster. The coffee started to boil, so she poured him a mug and set the rest aside to cool.

He twirled the small bowl around and considered a moment before returning to grinding. “Once again, I leave that decision up to you.”

He chewed on the espresso bean and made a face.

Then he decided he was done as he set the mortar and pestle down and replaced it with his mug. “Mmmmm, caffeine.”

"Grind these," she said, passing him the mortar and pestle. She set up a double boiler to melt some chocolate and set about pouring heavy cream for the filling.

He took the mortar and pestle from her. Snagging one of the beans, he popped it in his mouth as he set about grinding the rest the best he could.

"There more of these to grind, or would this be enough?"
